Smoky with subtle menthol, black cardamom gets its flavour from being dried over a wood fire. Native to the warm and wet Eastern Himalayas is related to green cardamom but from a different species.

How to use
Use whole and mainly in savouries. Sizzle in hot oil whole for a hearty depth that will transform meaty stews or bubble with rice or black tea for an intense smoulder. Black cardamom is wonderful ground alongside other dark and warming meat rubs and spice mixes.
